This is the drawing that inspired John Lennon’s “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds”. It was drawn by John’s son, Julian Lennon, about a girl named Lucy in his nursery class. In 2009 he found out Lucy was suffering from Lupus, a long-term autoimmune disorder that may affect the skin, joints, kidneys, brain, and other organs. Julian then recorded and released an EP, “Lucy”. All proceeds would go to the Lupus Foundation for research. The original drawing was lost and bought at an auction by David Gilmour of Pink Floyd. Lucy Vodden passed away in September 2009.
